Meigs Field Leaves Behind Polluted Park
It was 2003. In the middle of the night, Meigs Field was destroyed in a surprise move by the city. Most Chicagoans remember the sight of bulldozers tearing up the runway. What we did not know then is the extent of pollution at the old airport.
