Beatbasement - Streaming Indie and Underground Hip Hop. Beatbasement is a streaming internet radio station playing nothing but the finest turntablism and underground hip hop around. They have a free 24kbps MP3 stream which is suprisingly good quality despite the low bitrate. They used to have a deal where for $10 a month you can subscribe to their 192kbps stream for super high quality tracks, but it looks like it's been cancelled... I actually subscribed to them for a long time and it's well worth the money, it's a great station and by subscribing you help to support it. It's got a definite Bay Area / L.A. underground slant to it (pretty sure they're based around here), but they still play tracks from around the world including Europe and Japan. If you're tired of commercial hip hop and would rather check out cuts from the likes of Souls of Mischief, Binary Star, Aesop Rock, Company Flow, KRS-ONE, Madlib, 7L & Esoteric, The Visionaries, Q-Bert, etc. then I highly recommend this ...
