I have been at home all this week (except Monday). Our class decided not to come to college (I don't know exactly why!).Anyways, I am almost done with Scheme (another something for my Resum´!). I will now begin work on Awk sometime soon.I have been working on a website for iMagine 2003. The topic I chose is "Laughter Club". So, this has been keeping me occupied.....Big day for India tomorrow.....the excitement that an India-Pakistan match generates is amazing, isn't it?

I am 20 today and I feel like an old, intelligent man who has done nothing much in life. The difference between 19 and 20 seems a lot.....I came home a couple of hours back. I had gone to CST with Sunil. We watched Khushi (we had no option!). The movie was pathetic but I was satisfied.....I wanted to see Kareena desperately!In the morning I had gone for the web designing contest at SPACE, SPCE's annual college event.....and guess what.....the invincible Premshree Pillai got the 2nd prize!! Ideally, of course I would have won the first prize. Anyways, I ain't complaining, they were testing the websites using Lynx (believe it!) apart from IE; I probably lost out there.I have started working on Scheme. I downloaded Petite Chez Scheme yesterday; it should serve my purpose. It's just around 2 MB (MIT Scheme for Windows is around 11 MB).Finally, a PDF version of my article "Tabular Data Control" is available here.Chalo, pretty late.....Good Night!

My rating (as if it matters!) : 2½ / 5 Dad and Vinod will be back home today (they had gone to Kerala). I don't know what to do know. Actually, I intend to do lot of things - I want to write stuff in C++, want to write programs in TCL/Tk, want to write web-based Python programs.....; but I am practically handicapped without my CD-drive. After dad comes, maybe I'll buy a new CD-drive.

Got myself registered for the Graduate Record Examination (GRE). Registration was smooth. (I was worried because I don't have a Passport ready). I will be giving the exam on 30th September '03.I downloaded PuTTY: a free Win32 telnet/ssh clent. So now I am able to do all my work on the college server from home through a Secured Shell (SSH)!Good Night!

Heh! I won the 1st prize in the web designing contest, "Spin-a-web" at TORQUE '03, an inter-collegiate technical festival held by CSI-ITW on 6th and 7th February, 2003. I won this contest second time in a row!I had decided that this would be the last web-designing contest I would go for.....but I am too good at it; I find no competetion in Mumbai, so maybe I will participate. Let's see.....

Had a long, tiring and eventful day yesteray. I along with Sunil went to IIT, Bombay's TechFest - Day 3 (final day). We left early in the morning at around 6:30. The lecture we were waiting for began at around 9:15. Richard Stallman, founder of the Free Software Foundation (FSF) and the GNU Project was video-conferencing from Boston, MA.He spoke briefly about the FSF and the GNU Project. He went on to speak about copyrights(software and books) and how, effectively it was restricting our freedom. He drew excellent anologies between various aspects of software copyrights and other copyrights (as in Books). He was very convincing in whatever he spoke but somehow I don't see how a normal Indian software developer can contribute significant time in developing "Free software" and at the same time have a decent life..... The lecture got over at around 10:30. We went to Janak's room at hostel 4. Spent some time there.....had good food at the hostel's mess. Karan and his friends joined us ...

Everybody of the 98' school batch met at school after 5 years!!! It was really nice, seeing all old friends. Somehow, I wasn't feeling very nostalgic about meeting Suhasini......she looked beautiful as all ways; though she looks more of a studious-kind now.It was a great day and all of us shall meet every year, I guess; but meeting after a really long time is so exciting.

Found some bugs on my journal. I realised that the PHP date() function displays the server-side date and not the client-side. I made the changes and now it's fine.Please let me know if you find anything wrong with the journal.Thanks!

Went to A.C Patil college at Koper Khairane for collecting the money (1800 Rs!!) that we won at last year's (2002) event :-). It's been more than a year. The person incharge was not there and nobody was willing to listen to us......maybe I'll never get that money.I learned a good lesson......On a happier note, I had the best Chinese food of my life at a place called 'Red Hot Chilli Peppers'. Where? Koper Khairane!!! It was a bit expensive but then you occassionally get good things in life cheap. By the way, once upon a time BT had reviewed this restaurant.After that we headed to C.S.T and guess what, I din't go to McDonald's.To sum it up : I went to get 1800 Rs and ended up spending aroung 500 Rs :-)

Finally, I have my own journal! I created it using MySQL/PHP.Here, I shall write all the stuff I am doing, things happening with me etc etc........I don't know how long I can continue doing this.....
