The Clowne Town Cricket Club officials for the 2004 season were decided at the recent AGM which was held at the pavilion. A number of changes have been made for the 2006 season click below to see what changes have been made

Finally the club has its brand new covers in place for the start of the new season thanks in part to a grant from Bolsover District Council. The covers will enhance the quality of wickets at Clowne and help higher scoring at the ground, good news especially for batsmen!
|

Just a reminder to everyone that the AGM will take place at the Club House on Saturday the 13th of November starting at 7 PM. A lot of decisions need to be made including who will be the team captains for next year. All club members are encouraged to come along.

|
Clowne Town Cricket Clubs Senior Presentation will take place on the 30th of October at the club house. A Buffet and Disco will be provided, tickets cost £7 each and must be paid for before the event, See Paul Linacre or Graham White to buy tickets. Please note no ticket means no entry.

Please find Clowne Town CC Team selection for the weekend commencing the 21st of August. The 2nds and 3rds go into the weekend needing to win to help avoid relegation. The 1sts are playing for pride after being beaten in the last 2 weeks and will remain in 4N next year. See the teams below.

|
A maiden 50 for Andy Walker took Clowne to a winning draw against Matlock in a low scoring game. Clowne finished on 123-7 and in reply Matlock were restricted to a boring 67-7. 14 vital points were gained by the Clowne boys.
|

|
|
|
Neil Pollard produced a superb spell of swing bowling to bowl Marehay out for just over 100, taking 6 wickets for 33. The Clowne lads then set about getting the runs quickly with Adam White scoring a fluent 44. Clowne won by 6 wickets.
|

|
|
|
|
Clowne fell to only their 2nd defeat of the season in controversial circumstances against a strong Staveley side. Chris Hendley made a good 65 and Matthew Parker also adding a decent 29 against a fast Staveley attack. However this was not enough as Staveley 'edged' the way past the Clowne total.

|
|
|
|
Clowne made the journey down to Butterley to face, probably the most friendly team in the league. However both teams ended up being beaten by the weather. Clowne batted and made a decent 190-7 with Hendley making a decent 62 not out. In Reply Butterley got to about 70 before the rain ended to game.

Please find Clowne Town CC Team selection for the weekend commencing the 10th of July. After the rained off match the 1st team look to take on bottom of the table Codnor, while the in form 2nds take on table toppers Matlock. The 1st team also face Tibshelf on Sunday while the 3rds play Blidworth.

Glyn Longs return to action resultered in Clowne Town 2nd teams first win of the season soring 80 runs and taking 4 wickets. Clowne restricted West Hallam to 149-9 before knocking off the required runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Chasing over 200 Clowne spanked the Spital attack around the ground with White and 'Junior' Holmes grabbing the runs. White made 47 not out and Holmes hit the winning runs for 4 bringing up his first ton for the sunday sides. A good win for the spirited 3rd team.

|
|
|
A battling 31 not out from Paul Thompson saw Clowne to a losing draw against Ilkeston to gain some much needed points. Batting first Ilkeston made 233-6 declared from 43 overs, in reply Clowne made 156-7 thanks mainly to the innings of Thompson.

Please find Clowne Town CC Team selection for the weekend commencing the 19th of June. This weekend sees the welcome return of Glyn Long to the 2nd team, as they search for some much needed points at West Hallam. The 1st, 3rd and 4th teams all Look to bounce back from last weekends defeats.

Perhaps the most exciting game of cricket played at Clowne in the recent past, resulted in 27 points for the 1st team. After making a modest 105 all out the Clowne bowling attack managed to bowl Langley Mill out for 93 to win by 12 runs and less than 3 overs remaining.

|
|
|
A gallant effort falls just short with Stavelys Steers and Houghton coming on form. Clowne fell about 20 runs short chasing 203, a fine effort by all especially Dale Steers scoring his first 50 of the season.

Please find Clowne Town CC Team selection for the weekend commencing the 12th of June. After the fantastic win against Langley Mill the 1st team take the short journey to Staveley. The 2nds look to get their season on track at home to Ilkeston. The 3rds and 4ths take on Welbeck and Harthill.

Clowne managed to hold on to gain a losing draw against a very strong Heanor Town Side. With Holmes to scoring with 73*. Replying to Heanors massive 258-5 (Hessey 89) Clowne could only manage 153-9 in reply after losing wickets at regular intervals through out the innings.

|
|
|

Please find Clowne Town CC Team selection for the weekend commencing the 05th of June. The 1st team take on Langley Mill while the 3rds take on Spital and the 4ths face Clipstone. The 2nds are left without a game this weekend so come and support the 1st team and have a few beers.

A fantastic effort by all falls just short of Cuckneys score. With Dale Steers top scoring with 45, and Matthew Lowton being the pick of the bowlers taking 3 wickets. Chasing 180 Clowne managed a creditable 167-9 in reply.

Adam Whites maiden ton led Clowne to a winning draw against Tibshelf, on a very hot day in Clowne. Clowne made their highest score of the season finishing on 248 - 6 in reply Tibshelf made a defiant 178-5 P Tidswell top scoring with 60.

Linacres Legendary Leviathans cement back to back victories against Kirkby Portland. A master class from the bat of Linacre with good support from Steers all round effort, Kinseys bowling and a fine team display secures victory.
|
|
|

A fighting batting display by Nigel Spencer prevented Clowne slipping to defeat against Darley Dale. After being outplayed for much of the game Clowne batted out for a losing draw, having never been in the chase for victory.

Clowne Towns 4th XI's first victory of the season in a close finish against Teversall. A great effort from the clubs new team in bowling out Teversall for 109 and winning by 17 runs. Lets hope they can continue the good form throughout the season.

Clowne Town take a vital 27 points against a battling Belper Ams side. Game was played on the artificial due to rain in the week. Steve Bennett won the game for Clowne taking 5 for 23 in doing so bowling Belper out for 61 giving Clowne a win by 34 runs.

Clowne were bowled out by a young Blidworth Leg spinner. Blidworth then hit the runs required losing 6 wickets along the way. Young Boulton finished with fine figures of 8-31 including a hatrick in a fine effort by the 12 year old.
