I just realized that slashdot journals have an RSS feed. I am going to try to find a really good way to integrate these feeds into cataBlog in some way.

It is official. There is no current link between Iraq and Al Qaeda. They have idealogical differences that are incompatable.

After using the Zend IDE for over year I have decided to see what has been going on with Quanta Plus. The primary impitus for this was not because I was dissatisfied with the Zend IDE for any reason, but rather because I have been so impressed with KDE lately.

I just found out that my favorite take-out place in Nashville has a website. For the sake of helping the world know about a great place to eat, I am posting a link here.

It is important not to be religious about technology. I have enough stress from our bi-partisan political system and all the religious undertones of the present-day international conflict. I like to think that it is my open-mindedness to all sides that let me be excited by something like .NET being ported to Linux.

Dave Weiner has decided to host a conference about blogging. It is being held at Harvard and is pretty pricey. I am thinking about attending, but not like you might think.

I am a huge fan of open source software and use very little software that isn\'t open source. However, as I think about the long term viability of open source software there are some concerns.

Let me start by saying this tutorial is a work in progress and should be considered incomplete and temporary. I just started using QuickForm yesterday, but I would like a quick-reference type guide to using it. Please do not link to this page as the URL will change in the near future. If you are interested in linking to this page please let me know first so I can create a permalink.

As criticisms of the Bush administration continue to grow, those of us who have disagreed with policies of War and unfair taxation need to keep our mouths shut, lest our arrogant \"I told you so\"s may become the rallying for for the next wave of blind support for this detrimental administration.

In the tradition of geeks everywhere I have posted a quick screenshot of my system today. This is mostly because I am getting it setup how I like it and thought I would share.

Have you ever wished you could find out information about federal regulations, happenings, orders, and such? The Freedom Information Act means that we have access to this information. However it is our responsibility to search out the information, not the governments. Most of us (myself included) wouldn\'t even know where to begin. Until now.

Kontact is a new application being developed by the folks that bring us KDE (K Desktop Environment). It aims to provide the unfied PIM (personal information management) that is achieved with Microsoft Outlook or Ximian Evolution. As far as I know this application will only run on Linux and UNIX variants running KDE.

I have started testing out Kdevelop for PHP coding. The most important feature in an IDE for me is integrated CVS. I haven\'t been using the debugging stuff in the Zend IDE, and kDevelop is better integrated with my system.

A website dedicated to the search for Tabitha Tuders has been launched. The website has a tool to provide online tips, donate money, look at pictures, and print flyers/posters. (There is even a link to the suspects in the case.)

I think I am going to go ahead an implement LiveUser as the user authentication/premissions system for cataBlog before I release it in to the wild.

Still no one has found Tabitha Tuders anywhere. I have even tried searching the web and very little stuff comes up.

I went to Nick and Alisa\'s wedding with Sabrina, Zavier, and Carter over the weekend. It was a really nice ceremony, and those Michiganders sure know how to have a reception.

Cnn has an article today that talks about how the FBI is saying terrorists could use a cell phone to trigger a bomb. I had that idea a couple of years ago.

I am going to be updateing cataBlog within the next couple of weeks. I am going to allow multiple blogs per category, each with their own XML/RSS feed. I also hope to fluff out the user management stuff a bit too.

I have uploaded some more pictures of Carter and Zavier. Most of them are from the past week, but there are a couple of older ones.
