Masters stroke for local drama
By Sheena MacLean in The Australian: The Ten Network will today announce the start of pre-production on pilots for two new drama shows, giving a much needed lift to the struggling local drama sector. Ten's head of drama Sue Masters said it was envisaged both projects would become long-running series for the network. NSW the winner as Superman winds up

Animation industry dead in Australia
From AAP/The Sydney Morning Herald: The head of Walt Disney Co's local operations says the company's withdrawal from Australia could be the death knell of the nation's animation industry. But DisneyToon Studios Australia (DTSA) general manager Philip Oakes said he had faith in the local industry and he would set up a new animation business in Sydney. New Zealand's Rialto sells shares in companies to Reading
