I noticed via Gus' delicious links that there was an interview of Wolf posted on Drunkenblog. I read it, enjoyed it, and then went to check my email where I found a note from Gus telling me about the interview I'd just read. Sort of ironic that I found it through the "social bookmarking" first. Wolf is quite the character. Can't say as I really know him, but I've met him at WWDC and I periodically read his blog, which often has neat MacOS X coding tidbits tucked away in it. I remember quite a bit of commentary in the Q&A sessions at the last WWDC on his code, as well as the general fervor and dinner commentary it engendered at the WWDC blogger dinner last year. The attendee list for this coming year is really stacking up, but I haven't a clue how I'd be able to afford going to WWDC again this year.

Did this a few days ago, but just posting about it now.. Browsing the web on your PSP: 1. Setup a DNS server (i.e. Bind) 2. Re-map "ingame.scea.com" to a webserver on your local network via your hosts file 3. On your webserver, create /wipeout/index.html (Can contain links of sites you'd like to see) 4. In network settings, point your PSP's primary DNS @ your DNS server 5. Fire up Wipeout Pure and go to "Downloads" -- you should see your index.html you created. fin.

Full audio/video recordings of the conference for the 2005 Drupal Conference (@ FOSDEM, Feb 26, 2005) are now available. Also, there are some more notes floating around: Availability, Scalability, and Security of Drupal - interesting benchmarks on MySQL local socket vs remote access perf Theme Development presentation Content Construction Kit (Files are encoded in Ogg Theora. That means you need to watch in VLC on Mac. There are DirectShow filters available for Windows.)

It's 1:15 am, do you know where your cow is? So, I wanted to draw a bunch of guides and slice guides, right? But, I was lazy, so I learned how to use the Fireworks JavaScript API (again). It's cooler than Flash MX 2004's, it has a waiting dialogue box that you can even cancel! Anyway, yeah, this'll draw a grid using guides based on the width and height you pass in. If you like graph paper, and don't feel like going to View > Grid > Edit Grid..., this command is for you! ...careful, my router may block your website, it's dangeours like that. I've registered for the NHC in Baltimore this June. I'm REALLY looking forward to it because it'll give me a chance to see how competitions are. And will help me as I start entering competitions. I've also decided to get this all-grain brewing system when I get back. I can't wait to get home!! Oh Yeah, Jen has a new blog!

So, I clobbered all my free drum loops and tried pushing some of them back into GarageBand2 (part of iLife 2005) to get back a collection of tracks I had been working on last month. No dice.As a result, I ended up having to scrap a few of the tracks. Then I decided to force myself to make something longer than 3 minutes. That's a struggle for me. The end result was passed through a "dance" setting for the master track.http://fudge.org/music/rollingpin.mp3 (MP3)http://fudge.org/music/gb/rollingpin.tgz (GB2 archive)I thought I did okay, but then when I exported it to iTunes, it ran next to some artists that I really admire. Then when the play sequence of my final track ended, theirs picked up in the wake... wow. I've got a long way to go. At least the segue seemed plausible, albeit chunky.[comments]

I needed a folder for each month 1-12 for 20 years and this here script was the solution. It will ask you for the name to start with which can be left blank and then how many folders to make. This script was actually created on this site I think, but I could not find it so I thought I would repost it.

WHILE I'M BEING INTOLERANT OF FUNDAMENTALISTS, I'l... WHILE I'M BEING INTOLERANT OF FUNDAMENTALISTS , I'll note this rather lengthy, and utterly beyond unfriendly, critique of Tim LaHaye and his theology and enthusiasts. Yes, you've read about LaHaye before , and far better in many a place elsewhere, but this sucker is pretty high on snark value. In his 2002 book The Rapture , LaHaye indignantly defended himself against a John Birch Society critic who accused him of being in cahoots with the Illuminati. To the contraryóLaHaye pronounces himself an avowed enemy of what he calls the ìsatanically-inspired, centuries-old conspiracy to use government, education, and media to destroy every vestige of Christianity within our society and establish a new world order.î [...]{snip] Read The Rest Or Not therefore. Originally from the November 2004 issue of Harpers , and by Gene Lyon, by the way. - Gary Farber [Amygdala] A very good read and a wonderful deconstruction of a pandering series of ...

They've gone to bluegrass camps and open-mikes and workshops, they've taken lessons, they've played gigs with other bands and by themselves, and they've practiced an awful lot; Rick's written extensively about the whole process, and it's been fascinating to watch.... Bluegrass isn't my usual cup of tea, not that I know anything about it; and anyway I gather that Rick and Chris's flavor of bluegrass is anything but mainstream, looking back to the 30's and 40's.
