Good thing I didn't write hateful invective
Didn't have a great time, overall, at Hayward Honor Band, but it might be just because I'm so jaded after 4 years of it. (And other current personal issues.) Yet, the conductor made the band sound so good, so I...

Food poisoning piles onto National Gallery cancer worries
The Adelaide Advertiser has a story on a food poisoning scare at the National Gallery. It is understood several current and former gallery staff have suffered food poisoning from the main restaurant inside the gallery, but have not complained for fear of losing their jobs. That's a great culture they've got going on there then. I also liked this bit. A gallery spokesman confirmed an ACT Public Health Officer visited the gallery last Friday to inspect the kitchens. Having done food service work in a few jurisdictions I have to say that in my opinion ACT Public Health Officers couldn't find their arse with both hands and a map. I've seen them "inspect" places and miss large numbers of glaring public health problems. I have no faith in them at all.
