I'm counting this as Day 1 of my trip. Pictures for this day are available in this album in my photo gallery. Flight attendants thought I was Japanese. Automatically spoke to me in Japanese (didn't do that for other Chinese, Korean, or even some of the other Japanese passengers) Two Japanese girls managed to get me and my neighbour to switch seats. They knew the guy I was sitting next to, and convinced him to switch seats with one of them, and then somehow the other girl managed to convince me to switch seats with her. I had a nice aisle seat, but I was moved into a middle seat... a very cramped middle seat. My new seatmates were a Korean businessman (who spoke very little English), and the other was a woman who took almost the exact same flights as I did (she flew to Chicago from Toronto instead of Ottawa). There was a lot interesting advice given in the Ensemble exercise. One of the best was from Yuki to Masato. The card Masato said he never had enought money. Yuki's advice was to borrow money and try to win more by playing pachinko. The best advice giver was Yuuki. She got seven cards in total. Tonight was the last class of 2003. I hope to see some of you at the BYOB English Dinner, English Salon next Tuesday and the party on Thursday. If I don't enjoy the holidays and remember to read three stories in the magazines as homework. For Shizuko and Kaoru who were absent try to find an English book or magazine to read.
