The PDC is what is known at Microsoft as a "forcing function". Here's how it works: Let's say your team is working with another team on some glorious feature. At some point both teams work to produce lots of slides and whitepapers to convince the execs that this feature was a good idea, and both teams are commited to making it work. Time goes by and the teams, being heads-down trying to construct their own parts of this glorious vision, stop communicating quite so well. Little cuts get made in apparently insignificant places. Minor course corrections are done according to individual team charters. The hand-wavy parts of the original vision stay hand-wavy while people work on the parts they actually understand. The inter-team sync meetings keep getting canceled so people can finish the milestone. After a while, the teams aren't really quite working on the same thing any more. Fortunately, the PDC rolls around, and somebody has to make a presentation on stage in front of hundreds if ...

Top 10 Reasons to Learn CSS is the latest interview of Christopher Schmitt, this time by Sessions.edu talking about why it matters to learn CSS. Access is a measure of the patient's ability to seek and receive care with the provider of their choice, regardless of the reason for their visit. Counting the third next available appointment is the health care industry's standard measure of access to care and indicates how long a patient waits to be seen. This measure assesses the average number of days to the third next available short* appointment for each clinic and/or department. This measure does not differentiate between "new" and "established" patients. See the National Quality Measures Clearinghouse (NQMC) summary of the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality measure Access: time to third next available long appointment. Note: The "short" measure generally includes appointments such as a acute care problems, re-check visits, or follow-up.

From Know your English - Today's The Hindu Edition:When you use B.C. and A.D., where should the numerals come? Before or after B.C. and A.D.?(Rev. S. C. Jayakumar Coimbatore)B.C. and A.D. are usually put after the date. For example, according to some people Julius Caesar died on 15 March 44 B.C. When the history of the world comes to be rewritten several hundred years from now, chances are "BBB" and "ABB" will be added to the lexicon. "Before Bush and Blair" and "After Bush and Blair".S. This entry is dedicated to discussing how to handle cases when the disconnect is total (for example I'm on the airplane). It has been 3 weeks which is too long, but I'm constantly amazed by the expert bloggers who post almost every day. Where do they find the time? Do they have day jobs? I do, two actually, and it turns out empirically that a posting every couple of weeks is going to be as good as it gets. So I'm occasionally connected. The powers that be at Intel have mandated that the politically correct term for software that works on occasionally connected devices is mobilized software. We wouldn't want to remind people that things sometimes go wrong. OK, I'm mobilized. But what happens when you really aren't connected? What is available to you and how did it get there? The answer, as I'm about to explain, can be thought of as trees. Let's start with a simple case that drives me crazy. As many know, I use and love a Blackberry 7210 for most of my work. I literally don't use a ...

For my big project this evening, I was going to install the stand alone <a href="http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=34&scid=32&prid=437">linksys print server</a> that the "Ski Boy" gave me for my birthday. However, I am absolutely whipped to the core - a little cfs fatigue with some fibro body aches tossed in for good measure. Very unusual for me to have both at the same time. Oh well - I think the hot tub and a good book is in order. My print server will be there tomorrow.
