WWLTV's website reports that: "A campaign mailing by supporters of Louisiana governor hopeful Bobby Jindal has a New Orleans-based federal judge and members of his Houma family seeing red. The literature, though it doesnt specifically name him, labels U.S. District Judge Stanwood Duval II as a 'left-wing' jurist."

George Plimpton is dead, and the world is a smaller place today. Better brains than mine will try to do justice to the second last American Hero. A needlessley humble Man Of Letters. What can one say about the man who sparred with Muhammad Ali just for the writing experience? Hunter Thompson (a close personal friend) gives it a go at "Hey, Rube!" Click the title of this post to get there. It is a fine eulogy. .

I just finished reading Keith Brown's article, "AUTHORIZE IT". from MSDN Magazine. It isn't available online yet but if you are a subscriber you already have a copy. It was a quick coverage of the Authorization Manager (AzMan) manifested in the form of a MMC snap in for the administration and a com object in the form of the AZROLES.DLL component. If you want to use AZROLES.DLL just reference the AZMan interop assembly in the %WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET\FrameWork\AuthMan directory. AzMan seems to give you that hierarchical mechanism to membership organization that Active Directory is capable of giving you via group to group membership and the treeview style of storage to help with conceptual representation during administration, but you don't have to use Active Directory. Of course I love Active Directory and everything that it can offer in the way of securing the content, delegating administration, auditing and data availability through replication, all independent of the application ...
